This quite unusual film title (for a korean movie) is directed by Bong Jo-ho, whom you may know from the "Barking dogs never bite", "The Host" and "Memories of Murder" works. The story tells us of a desperate mother who tries to hunt down the criminals that framed her beloved son. The first "Mother" trailer was shown on this year's Cannes festival and had a warm reaction from both the public and the critics. We are promised a two-hour non-stop action from one of the most hardcore korean film directors - Chan-wook Park. The moive itself is said to be ridden with feats of madness which make it quite an interesting watch.Watch the English trailer for Bong Joon-ho's Mother:
"Mother's" screenplay is written by Joon-ho himself in cooperation with Park Eun-kyo. One more interesting point - Bong Joon-ho brought Ms. Hye-ja, a famous actress in the early 90's, to play the role of "mother" - she never made a screen appearance since 1999.
And last but not least: the picture got no distributor in North America so it looks like it's going to take a while for "Mother" to appear on US screens. We will keep you updated on the issue.
